Shree Sai Dham Vriddhashram Trust was founded on a simple yet meaningful belief — that every elderly person deserves to live with dignity, care, respect, companionship, and the feeling of being at home. Around 30 years ago, Mrs. Geeta Kulkarni, after retiring from Murphy Company, chose to dedicate her time to serving senior citizens. During her visits to various NGOs and old age homes, she observed that in many places, the people responsible for the homes were not closely involved in the residents’ everyday lives, and that the facilities and support promised to elderly residents did not always reach them as intended. Deeply moved by what she witnessed, she shared her concerns and vision with her son, Mr. Pravin Kulkarni, who immediately supported her. Together, they began their journey in a small, unused cowshed in Khidkali, transforming it into their first old age home. Despite limited resources and many challenges, their commitment to caring for the elderly never changed. As the number of residents grew, they took the next step of purchasing land and creating a permanent home, giving rise to Shree Sai Dham Trust. A few years later, Mr. Pravin Kulkarni married Mrs. Priya Kulkarni, who gradually became an integral part of this larger family. For the past 25 years, Priya has been at the heart of the home’s daily meals, preparing food with the same love and care she gives her own family. Her contribution extends beyond the kitchen, as she has also supported residents with their medicines, personal care, and everyday needs. Following the passing of Mrs. Geeta Kulkarni 12 years ago, Mr. Pravin and Mrs. Priya Kulkarni have continued to carry forward her values and take responsibility for the day-to-day operations, meals, personal care, and wellbeing of the residents. What began as one woman’s desire to make a difference has grown into a home built on generations of love, service, and commitment. At Shree Sai Dham, the belief remains simple: an old age home should not feel like an institution — it should feel like home. The Trust’s vision is to create a world where every senior citizen can age with dignity, companionship, security, and love, while its mission is beautifully expressed in the words: “Care with compassion.
